Hi, I’m Dr. Izabela Orlowska — a cross-cultural consultant helping professionals succeed in Ethiopia.
With over 17 years of experience in Ethiopian cultural, academic, and development contexts, I support clients who want to collaborate respectfully and effectively with Ethiopian partners. I’ve worked with international organizations like the World Bank, advised NGOs, led academic workshops at Ethiopian University, and spent years living in Ethiopia, immersed in local cultures.
My passion for intercultural communication stems from both my academic work and personal encounters. I’ve seen projects fail—not due to lack of resources, but because of unspoken cultural disconnects.
I created this consultancy to help bridge those gaps. I want to empower expats, diplomats, researchers, and businesspeople to thrive, not just survive, in Ethiopian contexts.

Why I Do this Work
